Synthetic Character Design
An AI-generated character photo library built to demonstrate end-to-end fluency across generative tools.
Interested? Let’s talkThe brief
I wanted to show what’s possible when you treat AI image generation as a design discipline rather than a novelty. The project is a complete character-based photo library — from development through to polished product mockups — built entirely with generative tools.
The process followed the same logic as a real photoshoot: character development first (face, expressions, personality), then outfit design, multi-angle photography, studio shots, studio shots with digital product mockups like phone screens, and finally a range of environmental photography in different settings. Each stage required different tools and techniques — Midjourney, ChatGPT, NanoBanana, and multiple upscalers — stitched together into one coherent visual output.
The point wasn’t to fake anything. It was to demonstrate that AI tools, directed with design thinking, can produce a consistent, usable asset library — the kind of thing that would normally require a photographer, a model, a stylist, and a studio.

Outcome
Self-initiated — a full character photo library and product mockup set, built entirely with AI tools.
